Adios 2019!
Wow, was 2019 a growth year or what? What an incredible year of blessings and abundance for our family. I can’t even imagine how this year can be topped, but somehow I know it will just get better!
2019 - I will never forget how the year began...
Dean and I were on a flight to Florida where we would soon be boarding a cruise ship that he would be performing on for the week. My period was late and I was so hopeful that while we were at sea, I would find out that I was pregnant. Unfortunately, my body had other plans. As tears welled in my eyes and my stomach riled with pain, I resigned to the fact that yet another month didn’t bring me the news we desired. What I consistently told everyone and attempted to tell myself was that it was no big deal. “We are just going with the flow and whatever happens, happen,” I would say. But on the inside, I was anything but calm, cool and collected. We arrived in Florida and were waiting in the lobby area of the airport to get on our bus for the ship. It was at that point in time that the universe wrapped me up and its arms and gave me the comfort I needed in true cosmic, comedic fashion. I saw a woman schlepping a cart of luggage with screaming children draped all over her, hanging from every limb. Her face, colored with exhaustion. I couldn’t help but laugh, (discreetly of course). I instantly said
“okay. Very funny...you win...I get it. I am officially relinquishing all control over this situation and it will happen when it’s meant to happen.” And just like every romcom ever written, that’s when it happened! In Mexico, our little angel was conceived. On February 15th, we found out the wonderful news! How’s that to kick off the new year?!
2019 was my best year to date and here are some of my memories...
I don’t believe in resolutions, I think it is just a silly way to set ourselves up for failure, perpetuating the notion that we aren’t good enough as we are. I don’t believe that you have to wait for a new year to change aspects of your life. I don’t believe in the phrase “new year, new you”! What I do believe in, is setting intentions. I believe that you can be intentional in your life whether you are a structured person or someone who just likes to play things by ear. I believe that as humans we are constantly growing and evolving regardless of our age. And finally, I believe that taking it one day at a time is the best thing we can do for ourselves.
So...
What do you intend to do with the next year of your life? Whatever you do, I hope it brings you insurmountable joy, peace and lots of love.
Warmest Regards,
SZ
